Chinese mainland reports six new COVID-19 cases, all from overseas

The Chinese mainland registered six new COVID-19 cases on Friday, all from overseas, the country's health authorities said on Saturday.

This is the 27th consecutive day without domestic transmissions on the Chinese mainland.

No deaths from the disease were reported on the mainland on Friday while nine patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 85,174 and the death toll at 4,634, with 299 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.

The total confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 4,925 (4,598 recoveries, 99 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 498 (475 recoveries, 7 deaths)
