European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival to open in Vietnam

The European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival 2015 will take place from June 10-19 in Hanoi and from June 11-20 in Ho Chi Minh City, the country's National Studio for Documentary and Scientific Film told Xinhua on Monday.

Documentaries from Denmark, Germany, France, Israel, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden and Vietnam will be screened free of charge at the National Studio for Documentary and Scientific Film (465 Hoang Hoa Tham, Hanoi), and Hoa Sen University (8 Nguyen Van Trang, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).

Besides, a special film series will screen contributions of young filmmakers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. One workshop will also be held in Hanoi with a German filmmaker on script development and another in Ho Chi Minh City.

Some Vietnamese documentaries, which have won awards at festivals, mention the horror of wars and postwar pains, including "Tieng vi cam o My Lai" (The Sound of the violin in My Lai) and " Con lai voi thoi gian" (Lasting with the time), said the studio. Enditem
