Vietnam's Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) held in capital Hanoi on Tuesday a dialogue on the prevention and fight against corruption in projects using Japanese official development assistance (ODA).

The meeting occurred amid the allegation that the Japan Transportation Consultants, Inc. (JTC) gave bribe to several Vietnamese railway officials to win bid for those projects.

A total of six Vietnamese railway officials have been prosecuted and arrested for investigation.

The MPI's press release says the conversation creates a chance for the two sides to "review activities and map out measures to prevent corruption in Japanese ODA projects over time."
