U.S. orders extra inspection of Boeing 777s with certain engines

U.S. aviation regulators issued an emergency directive for increased inspections of Boeing 777 jets using the same type of engine involved in a Saturday incident in Denver.

The regulatory moves involving Pratt Whitney 4000 engines came after a United Airlines 777 was forced to make anemergency landing on Saturday after its right engine failed shortly after takeoff.
