Tesla bets big on bitcoin

Tesla announced an investment of $1.5 billion in bitcoin.

In the near future, the EV automaker will accept the cryptocurrency as payment.

Bitcoin’s value soared more than 10% after the announcement.

Tesla’ CEO, Elon Musk, have been encouraging digital currencies. He evenbrieflyadopted a #bitcoin on his twitter profile.

Tesla’s move could make Bitcoin a more mainstream currency especially if other companies follow the idea.

But some analysts are more cautious claiming that is just a stunt to bring attention to Tesla.
