The White House has confirmed that President Donald Trump will visit China from November 8 to 10 as part of his Asia tour.

Chinese President Xi Jinping invited Trump to visit China during his visit to the United States in April.

The two leaders discussed a range of issues, including tensions on the Korean Peninsula. The DPRK issue is likely to dominate Trump's agenda during his China visit, as Pyongyang has continued with missile test launches in defiance of UN sanctions.

Xi and Trump are expected to discuss cooperation ranging from commercial to cultural areas, the White House said in a statement.

The White House said the trip to Asia underscores Trump's commitment to US alliances and partnerships and intends to reaffirm US leadership in the region.

He will also visit allies Japan and South Korea, as well as Vietnam and the Philippines.
