CES Asia 2017 showcasing latest tech innovation in Shanghai

The 2017 Consumer Electronics Show Asia kicked off on Wednesday in Shanghai, with the event introducing the latest in global tech innovation to the Asian marketplace.

More than 450 exhibitors from around the world are attending the fair, which runs until Friday. Huawei, e-commerce firm JD.com, and drone-maker DJI are among the big names presenting their latest products. Also on show is a designated area for innovative local and foreign start-ups.

In total, 19 categories of consumer electronic products, including smart devices, wearable gear, drones and robotics are being showcased at the 2017 CES Asia. An innovation prize will be awarded to the exhibition's top tech products at the big industry event.

According to the Consumer Technology Association, who organised the event, China's personal electronics market is expected to see year-on-year growth of 9 percent in 2017.
