Indonesia imposes travel bans on more European countries amid COVID-19 outbreak

Indonesia has imposed temporary travel bans on six more European countries - Vatican, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Britain due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said on Tuesday.

Marsudi said in a statement that people who have visited the six European countries in the past 14 days will be banned from visiting or transiting in Indonesia, effective from Friday.

She added that travelers coming from those countries will be required to show valid health certificates issued by health authorities of their respective home countries.

Earlier, the government has imposed travel bans on China, Italy, Iran, and South Korea. Restrictions for travelers from these countries remain in place, the minister said.
