Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial kick-off to the summer travel season in the U.S.

By many accounts, it was a busy one with millions of Americansflying and drivingto visit friends and family and hot destinations.

Experts say it’s a prelude to the summer when travel is expected to boom.
