APD | Huawei introduces Nova 5T in the Philippines

**MANILA,Sept.2(APD) ** – Huawei has continued its steady growth over the years from three million units sold nine years ago to 206 million units last year.

This was how George Li, Country Manager for Huawei Philippines Consumer Business Group at the launch of its latest smartphone with five AI (Artificial Intelligence) cameras, four of which are at the rear including a 48MP Quad AI shooter while its fifth camera is the 32 MP front shooter for selfie enthusiasts.

Li said Huawei’s sales growth in eight years amounted to 68 times.

For this year, Li said, Huawei has already sold 118 million units worldwide during the year’s first half while sales of its personal computers reached 300% and 200% for its wearables.

He underscored Huawei’s commitment to continuously offer advanced technology to deliver advanced technology for it to deliver seamless Artificial Intelligence.

Mr. Li explained Huawei’s Chinese market share grew from 20% in January 2017 to 36% in June 2019. As har as Huawei’s global market share of 10% in Q1 of 2017, it has improved to 17.6% in Q2 of 2019. However, Apple’s 14.7% in Q1 of 2017 it fell to 10.1% in Q2 of 2019. Samsung had 23.6% in Q1 of 2017 but dropped to 22.7% in Q2 2019.

“We will continuously offer advanced technology to deliver seamless Artificial Intelligence life with 5G, EMUI, Harmony OS and Chipset,” Li said in his presentation. He added their Huawei Nova series has exceeded its targeted shipment of 100,000,000 units.

In the Philippines, Huawei brand awareness increase from 35% in 2018 to 59% on year-to-date as global awareness has further improved from 34%in 2018 to 46% in this year, year-to-date.

Meanwhile, Marty Bian, head of Huawei’s Nova Product Marketing Group said the Nova series from Nova3i has grown to be the “most popular smartphone” in the Philippines at the elaborate launch at Bonifacio Global City early Thursday evening. He added more and more Filipinos will turn to Nova 5T because of its cameras as selfies have become a fad in the country.
