Six of a total of eight Thais charged with mocking Thai prime minister got released on bail Tuesday, while the remaining two of them were detained by police for further investigation.

Bangkok Military Court has allowed bail for all of them earlier, six of them were released on 200 thousand Baht (about 5, 680 U.S. dollar) bail, but the police asked to prolong the detain of two of them, namely Natthika Worathaiyawich and Harit Mahaton, Thai media Matichon reported.

While bailed, the six Thais were requested not to incite or create any unrest in the country and they cannot go abroad before getting permission.

These eight Thais are online administrators of a Facebook page called "We Love General Prayut", which posted a lot of doctored photos mocking Thai prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his military government. They were arrested late last month as authorities said their posts may cause unrest in the country.

All of them have been charged with sedition under article 116 of the Criminal Code, which carries up a jail sentence up to 7 years and the Computer Crime Act.

The still detained duo, Ms Natthika and Mr harit, have been charged with violating Section 112 of Criminal Code, or the lese majeste Law, which carries up a jail sentence from 3 to 15 years, Bangkok Post reported.
