In two separate suicide bomb attacks in Afghanistan, 48 people were killed on Tuesday. The attacks took place near President Ashraf Ghani’s election rally.
The president was not harmed in the attack. Condemning the attack, he said through Twitter, “Taliban tried to break this unity by targeting innocent civilians. They shamelessly accepted responsibility at a time when they’re cloaking acts of terror as efforts for peace.”
In another episode, a suicide bomb went off in central Kabul. In this particular attack twenty-two people were killed while 38 were hurt, the interior ministry spokesperson informed.
Of those killed most were civilians including women and children, while six were security force personnel.
Meanwhile, the Taliban released a stamen claiming responsibility for the two attacks. In a statement, the terrorist organization said, “People were given warning.”
“Do not take part in the puppet administration’s election rallies, because all such gatherings are our military target. If despite the warning, someone gets hurt, they themselves are to blame,” the statement further said.
