PARIS, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Of the 2,300 personnel on board French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, 940 have tested positive for COVID-19, French media reported on Friday citing a parliament document.

Around 20 sailors are hospitalized, including one in intensive care, following an outbreak of the coronavirus in the aircraft carrier, a spokesman for the French navy said on Thursday.

After exercises with other European navies in the Baltic Sea, the Charles de Gaulle returned to Toulon in southern France on Sunday, two weeks earlier than planned after crew members showed signs of COVID-19 symptoms.
