Chinese mainland reports 49 new COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland registered 49 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, with 35 cases from overseas and 14 domestically transmitted, Chinese health authority said Monday.

All of the 14 domestically-transmitted cases are in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

No deaths related to the disease were reported Sunday, while 64 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The total confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 4,079 (2,847 recoveries, 52 deaths)

Macao: 46 (46 recoveries)

Taiwan: 477 (441 recoveries, 7 deaths)
