In its latest round of hostile remarks against the United States, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has boasted of its submarine-launched ballistic missiles.

The newspaper of the Korean Workers' Party, Rodong Sinmun, carried a commentary on the country's Navy Day on Monday.

It praised leader Kim Jong Un for the development of SLBMs.

It quoted Kim after an SLBM was test-fired in April last year. He said that the country is now capable of thrusting a sword into the head of an enemy at any time.

The commentary also said if the US brings dark clouds of war, DPRK will write a page of humiliation in the history of the US Navy and bury the US at sea.

DPRK has been testing its submarine missiles since May 2015, with one flying 500 kilometers in August last year.

A photo released through state-run media last Wednesday suggests the development of a new SLBM with a solid fuel engine.
