Gunshots at north France's Roye kill three: TV

Gunshots killed three people and severely injured four others, including two gendarmes, at Roye, North France, French TV channel BFMTV reported Tuesday.

The gunshots took place at Roye, Haute-Somme department in north France, around 4:30 p.m. local time, next to a supermarket where nomads camped, said Le Courrier Picard.

According to the local broadcaster Europe 1, an exchange of fire with an armed man in a camp of travellers left two gendarmes wounded, with one in serious condition.

Security forces were on the site after being alerted of a volley of shots in the camp. At their arrival, a man opened fire on them before being arrested. He was also injured in the shooting.

Three bodies of a man, a woman and a baby were found in the site. They were believed to be killed by the same gunman who shot the gendarmes. A second child was seriously injured in the incident, according to the report. Enditem
