Five killed, several injured in Sri Lanka rubber factory explosion

COLOMBO, April 19 (APD) -- Five people were killed and several others sustained injuries following an explosion at a rubber factory in Sri Lanka on Thursday.

The explosion took place in Horana, located approximately 42 km away from the capital Colombo.

The Police said that at least 15 people had been admitted to hospital following the explosion.

One person who was killed had fallen into an ammonia tank at the rubber factory.
