Thai police still searching for Israeli female missing in boat fire

Police in south Thailand's Krabi province are still searching for an Israeli female tourist who remained missing after a tour boat exploded and burst into flames on Wednesday, China's consular office in Phuket said Thursday.

When the accident happened at about 4 p.m. local time Wednesday, the boat was heading from Krabi to Phuket Island, carrying about 100 tourists including 16 Chinese nationals, according to the office.

All tourists except the missing Israeli female have been transported to Phuket, where insurance companies are expected to negotiate with them about compensations, it said, citing police in Krabi.

No Chinese tourists were hurt in the accident, the office added.
