Gao Weidong recommended as new chairman of Kweichow Moutai

China's top liquor company Kweichow Moutai Group on Tuesday evening issued an announcement on the recommendation of Gao Weidong as director and new chairman of the board.

The company said in the announcement that the recommendation had been made in accordance with related documents of Guizhou provincial government.

Li Baofang is recommended not to serve as chairman and director of the group.

The company will, in accordance with the law, convene a board meeting and a general meeting of shareholders as soon as possible to review the positon adjustments, which will take effect after passage.

Gao, born in 1972, holds a master degree in project management and had served successively as deputy mayor of Guiyang, the provincial capital of Guizhou, as well as head of the provincial department of transportation.
