APD | Cambodia’s E-commerce firm, Tinh Tinh launched

**PHNOM PENH, Aug. 20 (APD) ** - Cambodia Post E-Solutions PLC, a joint venture investment with Cambodia Post, officially launched Friday last week, a move to boost local eCommerce sector.

The joint venture firm will offer a comprehensive, integrated set of online services from logistics, e-Commerce, and intermediary agency. At the ceremony, the company also announced launching ‘Tinh Tinh E-commerce,’ the first state-backed marketplace platform in the Kingdom.

Tinh Tinh is the Khmer language which means ‘buy, buy’ in English – composing of three languages, Khmer, English, and Chinese – is the online e-commerce marketplace platform which will enable sellers or online entrepreneurs in Cambodia to sell their products.

Ork Bora, director-general of Cambodia Post., said the newly-launched e-commerce company was established with initial capital at $1.5million and three shareholders possessed the company’ shares.

According to Mr Bora, Cambodia Post, which the government transforms the entity into the public enterprise since early 2011, holds a 10 percent stake Chinese firm ZVS Investment Co Ltd owned 50 percent share, while local tech company Paxxa Mobile Solutions Co Ltd possess the rest of the stake.

“With introducing our e-commerce platform, I believe that this platform will help local business, especially small and medium enterprises selling their products in the e-commerce platform reaching the global market,” he said.

TinhTinh E-commerce is Cambodia’s only one certificated and biggest online shopping platform with more than ten thousands of products available to all type of customers, whether with a big or small purchase that is convenient, quality, and secure, said Meas Sopheary, Chairman of Cambodia Post E-Solution PLC.

“Cambodia Post E - Solutions PLC has joint largest digital economy market in Cambodia and will also become one of the most popular online purchase apps in the world,” she said.

She noted that local merchants are no longer need to worry about the cost of advertising expense. “Merchants are welcomed to sell their products on our platform,” she added, adding that the company is going to open online payment gateways with banks to ensure that revenue will be safely transferred to merchants.

“We corporate with Cambodia Post and ZTO Express, to guarantee the most efficient logistics system provide all the customers as VIP customer services,” she explained.

According to statistics released by the Telecommunications Regulator of Cambodia (TRC), internet users – including both mobile internet and fixed internet – rose 31.6 percent and stood at 15.8 million as of the first half of the year which equals about 98.5 percent of the population.

TRC noted that, as of February, Facebook has 7 million users in Cambodia.
