Turkish movie wins best film at Sarajevo Flim Festival

The movie "Song of My Mother", directed by Erol Mintas from Turkey, on Saturday won the Heart of Sarajevo for the best film at the 20th Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) .

The SFF closed Saturday night after announcement of awards and screening of Woody Alen's movie "Magic in the Moonlight".

Heart of Sarajevo for best actress went to Mari Kita for her role in the "Brides", a movie co-produced by France and Georgia, which also won Special Jury Prize. Heart of Sarajevo for best actor goes to Feyyaz Duman for his role in "Song of My Mother".

Meanwhile, Heart of Sarajevo for best short film was given to "Chicken" directed by Una Gunjak from Croatia.

The award for best documentary, "Naked Island" directed by Tina K. Gudac, was also from Croatia. "Judgement in Hungary" directed by Eszter Hajdu, got Special Jury Prize.

Some 250 movies from 60 countries were shown at the 20th edition of SFF, which began on Aug. 15.

The Sarajevo Film Festival, founded in 1995, has become the top film festival in South-East Europe, attracting thousands of fans from the region each year.
