The Taiwan question has always been a Chinese red-line. Despite a recent statement by the State Department that the one-China policy hasn’t changed, the U.S. continues to intervene in cross-Straits ties, and moves by Taiwan secessionists risk destabilizing the region. So what will Beijing do? Where do cross-Straits ties go now? How will efforts to rebuild trust between China and the U.S. be affected, and can the two sides again reach consensus on Taiwan? Guests in this edition are Professor Klaus Larres from University of North Carolina; Teng Jianqun, Director of Center of Arms Control in China Institute of International Studies; Wang Yuqing, Peking University PhD candidate from Taiwan; and Joanna Lei, Managing Director of Azul Management Limited.
