Pearl Studio's new animated film "Over the Moon" set for 2020 release

"Over the Moon," an animated musical feature film by Chinese production company Pearl Studio, is set to be released later this year, according to an announcement made via the movie's Weibo account.

Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Glen Keane, it revolves around a girl who builds a rocket to travel to the moon in hopes of meeting the legendary Moon Goddess.

A Chinese-subtitled trailer has been released for the movie.

Pearl Studio co-produced the 2019 animated adventure film "Abominable" with DreamWorks Animation.
