Poland on Thursday announced the expulsion of three Russian diplomats for "violation of diplomatic status and carrying out activities to the detriment of the Republic of Poland by the indicated persons."

A statement by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the three – now considered "personae non gratae" – were staff members at the Russian embassy in Warsaw.

"The basis for this decision was the violation of diplomatic status and carrying out activities to the detriment of the Republic of Poland by the indicated persons."

The statement added that: "Poland expresses its full solidarity with the decisions taken by the United States on April 15, 2021 regarding its policy towards Russia. The decisions jointly made and agreed upon allies constitute the most appropriate response to the hostile actions by the Russian Federation."
