Firefighting helicopter crashes in South Korea with 7 on board

A firefighting helicopter with seven people on board crashed Friday into Mount Jiri in South Korea's southern region, leaving two people seriously injured.

The helicopter crashed into the Cheonwangbong Peak of the mountain in Sancheong County around 12:07 p.m., the fire authorities said.

It was on a rescue mission after receiving a report of a sudden cardiac arrest. It crashed shortly after picking up the patient.

The search and rescue operation is currently underway.
