Ministers from Pakistan north western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and members of Parliament on Thursday marched in Islamabad against the U.S. drones attacks in the tribal regions.
The lawmakers led by Chief Minister of north western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province marched towards the parliament house and staged a sit in to record their protest.
The demonstrators were chanting slogans against the U.S. attacks and were demanding immediate halt to CIA-controlled drone campaign.
The ruling coalition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a main supply route for NATO forces in neighboring Afghanistan, has been protesting against U.S. attacks in the region over the past two weeks.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan speaking at the protest said that the whole nation is united against the drone strikes in Pakistan. He criticized the government for adopting dual policy on the issue of missile strikes.
"Our rulers say one thing to US ambassador and completely the opposite thing with the nation," he said, stressing over the government to speak truth with the masses.
Khan said that the PTI is the only party which is doing what it promised with the nation.
He urged the parliamentarians to speak truth with the people of Pakistan.
The PTI chief again reiterated that the KPK government won't allow NATO supply through the province come what may.
Khan said that missile strikes are not only against the sovereignty of Pakistan but they are also violate international laws, adding a great debate is currently underway in the United States and Europe over the legality of missile strikes.
He said that he is proud over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government and PTI's allies for taking a united stand on the missile strikes.
The PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami have taken their protest to the federal capital after holding sit-ins in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which blocked the NATO Supply route. The PTI blockade of routes has led to the U.S. suspension ofthe shipment of military hardware out of Afghanistan.
Imran Khan has vowed that the protest will continue until U.S. drone strikes stop.
PTI Secretary Information Dr Shireen Mazari has claimed the U.S. decision to suspend the ground shipments as a 'tactical success'."However, the strategic success will come when the United States commits to stopping drone attacks on Pakistan."
