U.S. COVID-19 cases top 9,000: Johns Hopkins University

The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States has surpassed 9,000 by 10 p.m. local time Wednesday (0200 GMT Thursday), according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The fresh figure stood at 9,077, an increase of around 2,000 in 9 hours. And a total of 145 deaths have been reported, according to the CSSE.
