Green energy transition moves fast in Germany

Potentially the most fraught G20 summit to date as climate change has been sure to be a key sticking point.

The US decided to pull out of the Paris accord but host Germany and other world leaders criticized the move and further called for a more robust approach on climate change.

Germans have been funding a costly transition away from fossil fuels for the best part of two decades. Some communities now operate on renewable energy.

Energy storage technology is also developing fast and one company even said that the energy world is gradually de-centralizing.

And with a new momentum – albeit moving in slightly different direction, one off-shore wind farm developer is celebrating the completion of two new projects off the north German coast without government subsidies.

And according to experts, the shift from conventional to renewable energy can also start a political paradigm shift in the near future.
