6.5-Magnitude quake jolts Taiwan

The China Earthquake Networks Center is reporting a 6.5-magnitude earthquake jolted Taiwan's Nantou County on Wednesday morning.

At least one was killed and 19 people were injured.

It says the epicenter has a depth of eight kilometers...

The local earthquake authority put the quake at a magnitude of 6.1.

Residents in Taipei say they felt a strong tremor.

According to local authority, many people were injured by falling ceilings.

Taiwan's railway and metro networks were also temporarily suspended after the quake, for safety checks...

Now Taipei's metro system has resumed service and no damage has been found on railway network in the quake-affected area.
