One killed, seven injured in US plane engine explosion

One person was killed and seven injured after a US Southwest Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing on Tuesday after a “major engine failure,” according to local media.

Many have reported an “in-flight explosion” being heard at around 11:15 a.m. local time. The flight was on its way to Dallas before being forced to land at Philadelphia International Airport.
