A total of 57 people were killed and 321 others were injured in Turkey since June 24, the start of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, Dogan News Agency reported Tuesday.

Some 78 traffic accidents have occurred during the holidays as Turkish people went for visits of relatives across the country after the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Monday, the third day of the holiday, alone saw 18 accidents happened, in which 16 people were killed and 90 wounded.

Turkish government warned drivers Tuesday to be particularly cautious on the roads, as it is the last day of the holiday, seeing large numbers of people return home from their visits, and vehicles queue for several kilometers on the roads.
