India’s Supreme Court on Monday asked the government to ensure that normal life resumes in Kashmir as soon as possible.
Concerns are being raised about the condition of people in Kashmir, as the security restrictions and partial shutdown entered the 42nd day.
On August 5, the Indian government revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated it into two union territories.
To ensure that peace is kept in the former province, the government imposed security restrictions and detained politicians and suspected miscreants. Also shutting down phone networks.
Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said on Monday, “We direct Jammu and Kashmir to make the very best endeavour to make sure normal life returns.”
