A grand ceremony was held Monday night at the Great Synagogue of Europe in Brussels to pay homage to the four victims of the shooting incident in Brussels.
Over 1,000 people, including many Belgian ministers, Christian, Muslim representatives, and Jewish communities representatives from 25 countries, attended the mourning ceremony.
The president of the Jewish community of Brussels Philippe Markiewicz recalled the memory of the victims in his speech at the ceremony and highlighted the inter-religious dialogue and the mutual respect among all communities.
Markiewicz also thanked the Belgian government especially the judicial authorities for their interventions.
According to him, Belgium has demonstrated once more that she was an "active democracy."
On May 24, a shooting occurred at the Jewish Museum of Belgium, in the city center of Brussels, killing four people, including two Israelis, a French and a young Belgian.
