Zhang Dongdong, a Party official of a village in southwest China's Guizhou Province, finished his livestreaming show in which he introduced local eggs and tea in front of several thousand viewers.
Zhang, 37, used to be a teacher in Beijing before coming to aid anti-poverty efforts in Zhanma Village, Qinglong County, last year. Being a shutterbug, he brought cameras and even a DJI aerial photography aircraft with him.
Qinglong is one of nine deeply impoverished counties that have yet to shake off poverty in Guizhou. Zhang and his fellow colleagues still have a lot to do.
Like Zhang Dongdong, many first Party secretaries are working tirelessly to help with poverty alleviation of villages in Guizhou Province.
Since 2015, China has appointed young and excellent Party members or former cadres from government departments, organizations and enterprises to help with poverty alleviation of villages -- part of the country's efforts to eliminate absolute poverty by 2020. They are called "the first Party secretaries."
