Many shops have been picked clean or destroyed following five days of riots and looting in the South African city of Durban.

What began as protests against the prison sentence handed down to former President Jacob Zuma for corruption, quickly spiraled into chaos throughout the country.

Now, many residents wait in line by the hundreds under military protection to get their necessities.
