22 Myanmar survivors from sunk Russian fishing trawler return home

A total of 22 Myanmar surviving sailors from a sunk Russian fishing trawler returned home by air on Sunday from Russia via South Korea, official media reported on Monday.

The bodies of the Myanmar sailors who died in the accident will be brought home on a chartered flight on Wednesday, the Myanmar Embassy to Russia was quoted as saying.

The Russian Dainy Vostok, with 132 people - 78 Russians and 54 other nationals including 42 from Myanmar - sank in the sea of Okhotsk on April 1. A total of 54 people died with 15 others reported missing due to high wind and overload.
