President Xi extends condolences over Russian plane crash

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday extended condolences to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over the Russian plane crash that killed the 71 people on board.

Xi expressed his deep sorrow for all the victims and extended sincere sympathy to their families.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang also extended his condolences to Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The plane carrying 65 passengers and six crew members crashed shortly after takeoff from Domodedovo Airport on the outskirts of Moscow on Sunday.
