Four terrorists nabbed in Myanmar after ASEAN summit

All four terrorists, who were reported to have infiltrated into Myanmar to carry out destructive acts, have been nabbed by the regional authorities, the 7-Day Daily reported quoting regional police on Monday.

The four wanted terrorists were caught in Theinnyi, Shan state last Friday evening, a day after the end of the 25th ASEAN summit and 9th East Asia Summit in Nay Pyi Taw, when a passenger bus carrying the four were intercepted at an entry checkpoint to the city.

After Getting information about the infiltration, the terrorist ' photos and personal data have been put up in public areas of Mawlamyine, the capital of southeastern Mon state, as wanted persons.

The four captured terrorists have been transferred to the Mandalay and then Nay Pyi Taw regional police for further action, the sources said.

The four were reported to have infiltrated from western Rakhine state and hidden themselves in Mon state's Mawlamyine from where the information about them was leaked out.

They allegedly plotted bomb attacks on Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon during the just-endedASEAN Summit and East Asia Summit, the police force said, adding that security was heightened in the two cities.

The terrorists were detected as members of the "Rohingya Solidarity Organization" (RSO) with Than Win as its leader as well as the Islamic State (IS).
