EU exerts efforts to halt implementing Israeli annexation plan: official

A senior European Union official said on Wednesday that the EU exerts efforts with all parties to halt implementing the Israeli plan of annexing large parts of lands in the West Bank.

Shadi Othman, a communication officer at the EU in Jerusalem told reporters in Ramallah that the European effort and focus go in the direction of preventing the implementation of the Israeli annexation plan, whether it is partial or full.

He added that the EU "tries to avoid reaching the date of starting the implementation of the plan," adding that in case the Israeli government implements the plan, "there will be repercussions and consequences."
