Moscow cultural community celebrates International Chinese Language Day

April 20th marks the 13th International Chinese Language Day. Jointly organized by Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center, Russia Chanss International Publishing House and Chinese Language Alliance, the "Celebration of international Chinese Language Day: and the new book release conference of Russian version of" The Magic of Chinese Paper Cutting "and" the Wisdom of Chinese Characters "was held in Moscow.

Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui congratulated the celebration in a video message. He expressed the hope that language study can open a window for the Chinese and Russian people to enhance mutual understanding and friendship and make greater contribution to promoting people-to-people exchanges, mutual learning between civilizations and closer people-to-people ties.

The head of the Information and publishing Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said in a speech that the folk culture is full of goodwill. Through Chinese folk art, people can understand the good meaning of traditional folk culture.

Irina Vladisslavovna Zakharov, a famous Russian researcher of Chinese folk art and author of The Magic of Chinese Paper Cutting, introduced her creation process and shared her experience of visiting folk artists and studying folk art in northern China during her working and living in China.

Mu Ping, president of Shangsi International Publishing and Media Group, recalled his original intention to engage in the publishing of Chinese-themed books, and hoped that all kinds of books published by shangsi international publishing and media Group could continue to play a role of bridge in cross-ethnic and cross-cultural communication.

Nearly 100 guests, including former SCO Secretary-General Mezentsev, former SCO Deputy Secretary-general Zakharov, Dean of school of Oriental and African Studies of Moscow University Sergei Maslov, Deputy Chairman of Russia-China Friendship Association Aleksandr Sakhin, attended the celebration.

According to Dubova, director of the public relations department of Chans International Press, chans has published the 100 Most Beautiful Chinese Characters, History of Chinese Characters, wisdom of Chinese Characters and other Books in Russian in recent years, introducing the origin and development of Chinese characters to Russian readers. Every year, the group publishes more than 300 chinese-themed books in Russian, Belarusian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Japanese and other languages to enhance Russian readers' understanding of China and Chinese culture.
