Mexico records 6,891 new COVID-19 cases

The Mexican Health Ministry on Friday reported 6,891 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 665 more deaths, bringing the figures in the country to 289,174 and 34,191, respectively.

The government has said the real number of infected people is likely significantly higher than the confirmed cases.

The epidemic in Mexico could last until next April, Mexico's Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez-Gatell said earlier this week.
