China will strengthen the measurement to protect personal privacy, a spokesman for the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

CPPCC members agree it is important to regulate firms and institutions in the collection, use and storage of information in line with laws, according to Guo Weimin, spokesman for the third session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.

Regulations and compliance regulations were issued for personal information collection in the country's COVID-19 response, said Guo.

A series of measures have been implemented to set up a firewall to protect personal information, said the spokesperson.
