When President Biden took office, he halted construction on former president Trump’s border wall.

For the past two months there has been an increase in migrants from Central America countries crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

CGTN’s Liu Xu traveled to the border in Texas, and found some migrants aboard a dinghy attempting to cross into the U.S.

“Everyone seems very tired and nervous. Many of them got injured, some were even shot,” Liu said.

According to the Washington Post, U.S. authorities detained more than 78,000 migrants along the border with Mexico in January.

Estimates by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, project more immigrants flowing into the U.S. in coming months.
