CHITWAN, Aug 10 (APD): Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa today defended the government's move to arrest CPN leader Khadga Bishwakarma for his involvement in criminal activities.

Bishwakarma, also the spokesperson of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal, was arrested on Thursday from Kathmandu. Speaking to the press in Chitwan on Friday, Home Minister Thapa said the arrest was aimed at 'controlling' criminal activities.

Thapa added that as the Home Minister, it was his responsibility to control the crime, no matter whoever is involved. He asked all disgruntled factions to come for talks to resolve any political issue.
