Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday met with visiting U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Kyiv as the senior U.S. official made a surprise visit to show support.

Among the capabilities in this round of security assistance is the 120mm depleted uranium tank ammunition for Abrams tanks. It is the first time that Washington has sent Kyiv this type of ammunition, which is radioactive.

Speaking on Blinken's Kyiv visit, the Kremlin said it was clear if Washington planned to keep funding Ukraine's war effort "until the last Ukrainian."

"In other words, they are going to continue to support Ukraine in a state of war and to wage this war to the last Ukrainian, sparing no money for this. That's how we perceive it, we know it. It's not going to affect the course of the special military operation," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

Russia also denounced as "indicator of inhumanity" on Wednesday the U.S. plan to provide Ukraine with arms containing depleted uranium.

"The U.S. administration's decision to send depleted uranium rounds to Kyiv is a clear sign of inhumanity," the Russian embassy in Washington said on Telegram. "Obviously, Washington, obsessed with the idea of inflicting a 'strategic defeat' on Russia, is ready to fight not only to the last Ukrainian but to put a cross on the future generations."
