Two U.S. service members were injured after an airplane "executed a hard landing" early Friday morning in the Middle East, the U.S. military said.

The two service members were evaluated for non-life- threatening injuries and quickly transported to a medical treatment facility, where they were seen and released, U.S. Central Command said in a statement.

The other passengers and crew on the airplane were uninjured, and no other casualties were reported on the ground, said the statement, adding that the cause of the incident is being investigated.

U.S. media reported that the airplane, a MV-22 Osprey, was completely destroyed in the hard landing.
