‘Notting Hill’ actress Emma Chambers dies at 53

British actress Emma Chambers, who starred in the 1999 film “Notting Hill” together with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, has died at the age of 53, according to her agent.

The actress died from natural causes on Wednesday evening, said John Grant.

“Emma created a wealth of characters and an immense body of work,” he said. “She brought laughter and joy to many and will be greatly missed.”

Grant, who played Chambers’ brother in Notting Hill, paid tribute through his Twitter account, saying she was “a hilarious and very warm person” as well as “a brilliant actress.”

She was more well known in the UK for her role as Alice Tinker in “The Vicar of Dibley,” a BBC sitcom that ran for over a decade from 1994. Dawn French, a co-star in “The Vicar of Dibley”, described her on Twitter as “a unique and beautiful spark.”
