Stolen Buddha head statue returns to Chinese mainland after 20 years

(CHINADAILY)AbbotHsingYun,oneofTaiwan'smostinfluentialmonks,donatedaBuddhaheadstatuetoChinesemainlandinBeijingonFeb26,2016.

Theheadstatue,carvedduringNorthernQiDynasty(550-577AD),originallybelongedtoYoujuTempleinLingshoucounty,NorthChina'sHebeiprovince.However,itwasstolenandlostoverseasin1990s.

AbbotHsingYunreceivedthestatueasagiftfromhisfollowerin2014.

TheheadstatuewilldebutalongwiththebodystatueatNationalMuseumofChinaonMarch1,2016.

Aftertheexhibition,thestatuewillbepreservedinHebeiMuseuminShijiazhuangcity,NorthChina'sHebeiprovince.
