China recommends COVID-19 vaccination for elderly above 60

Elderly people aged over 60 are now recommended to receive vaccination against COVID-19 in China, said the National Health Commission (NHC) on Thursday in an updated guideline.

According to the NHC, data is insufficient for Phase III clinical trials on the group, but data from Phase I and II trials showed vaccination to have a certain protective effect for them.

In recent months, some regions in the country have already started vaccinating people aged above 60 and in good health.
