Confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported to WHO exceed 1.5 mln

Globally the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has exceeded 1.5 million, reaching 1,521,252, according to the latest World Health Organization (WHO) figures updated Friday afternoon.

The global death toll from the disease has passed the 90,000 mark, standing at 92,798.

The United States, which reported the most coronavirus cases worldwide, has reported to WHO 425,889 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 14,665 deaths.

In Spain, there have been 152,446 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 15,238 deaths.

Italy, the third country on the list, reported 143,626 confirmed cases and 18,281 deaths.

In Germany and France, which have the fourth and fifth most cases, the total number of confirmed cases is respectively 113,525 and 85,351, with the death toll standing at 2,373 and 12,192 respectively.
